The eclipses are here...
Eclipses are powerful portals, bringing endings and new beginnings, forcing us to let go if we want to receive.
The Scorpio New Moon happening Tuesday, October 25th at 6:48am kick off the second pair of eclipses we'll have on the Taurus-Scorpio axis. These eclipses will bring up themes you were dealing with back in May, only this time slightly different in nature.
Scorpio is one of the most complex signs of the zodiac, bringing qualities of deep feeling, focus, passion control, transmutation, death and rebirth. Scorpio on its own understands the importance of letting go, and adding an eclipse into the mix only emphasizes the need to release control, ground ourselves, and have faith that something better is coming.
When talking to other astrology lovers and students about these eclipses coming up, I sense that there’s some fear that is attached to these eclipses. But even if you don’t know about Astrology there’s still a lot in the world to be fearful of... The financial markets are down, food prices and inflation in general is skyrocketing. There is threat of nuclear war. Covid is still humming in the background. All you have to do is turn on the news and you’re inundated with things to fear.
A big buzz word - especially with when it comes to Scorpio - is transformation, but you can’t have transformation without a little bit of fear.
No one has ever gone through a significant transformation without an element of fear. Transformation requires you to let go and embrace uncertainty... and that can be a scary thing. Transformation requires stepping into the unknown and you have to trust. You need to leave something before you know what’s coming.
Scorpio is the darkness, it takes us to our darkness and brings up the darkness in the world we live in. You can’t go into the darkness with expectations. You need to be open for whatever you find so you can receive it.
Scorpio wants you to face your fears and that can be a really hard thing to do. That’s why we have a culture of overindulgence or addiction or promiscuity. People are trying to avoid their fears. They don’t want to be present with them. That’s a wonderful gift with the Taurus Scorpio axis... the awareness to have presence with yourself, with your body. Facing your fears, facing what’s up for you right now with honesty is really challenging and it can bring an element of fear of what will happen if you shine light on things you are avoiding.
Seeds sprout from darkness. Babies are born from the darkness of the womb. Our culture has such an aversion to darkness, whether it be trying to show best face on social media and not really show the harder sides of life or whether it’s literal: people with black or brown skin are treated differently. Darkness is where things are born from, so with a Scorpio New Moon and this eclipse season in general, I encourage you to not react or make choices from a place of fear.
We know what happens to the world when we react from fear... we’ve been living in it for the past two and a half, three years. Go into this eclipse season courageously because that’s how the true transformation can occur, when you courageously face your fears, when you go into the darkness not knowing what you’ll find and you come out the other side wiser, all the better, with a golden nugget that you found.
All the signs have their polarity that balance is them and it may feel really scary to go into the darkness, the unknown, not knowing what’s on the other side. Tap into Taurus, the opposite of Scorpio, which is grounded, present, in your body, attached to your senses. Don’t numb your fear and think that you can get through it... you need to be present with it. You need to remain embodied.

The astrology through the end of the year and into next year is powerful, there’s a lot going on. We have eclipse season, we have Pluto moving into Aquarius after decades and Capricorn, we have Saturn moving into Pisces, we have all of these big things happening but one of the great transits that’s going to happen next spring is Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance and prosperity, is moving into Taurus.
So whatever seeds are planted now in Scorpio, next spring Jupiter is going to give a jolt of lightening to them, expand them. You don’t want those seeds be planted in fear or you don’t want to be so fearful that you don’t plant seeds and miss the opportunity.
